the new exciting procedures that are out there for it so dr d thank you very much for joining us today i appreciate it thank you caleb pleasure to be here yeah absolutely and i wanted to start off just by asking how long you’ve been working as a plastic surgeon well actually i’ve been doing this for over 30 years now as a board-certified plastic surgeon and a member of the american society of plastic surgery and we’ve also had our own operating room now for the past 10 years okay awesome was there anything in particular that made you want to get into that space and be able to help people with their cosmetic goals yeah i have uh an uncle who was a plastic surgeon in new orleans that i spent a couple of summers with during college and then also during medical school and i really got to see the amazing things that he was able to do both from a reconstructive standpoint but also from a cosmetic surgery standpoint um and that really inspired me to pursue uh plastic surgery for my career as well okay definitely yeah it’s awesome to hear was there anything in anything in particular that you know about that situation that really made you kind of want to be able to help people as far as their cosmetic goals with that well yeah just just seeing the the positive chain that changes that it brought to people’s lives and how how uh they really felt so much better about themselves after the procedures that were done um it was just seemed really rewarding uh from from a surgeon’s standpoint but also from the patient standpoint yeah absolutely and i was curious since uh you know towards the end of the pandemic here have you guys noticed an increase in patients coming in for procedures again absolutely uh in hawaii we were fairly fortunate in that the pandemic uh never really shut us down completely so we always had a slow stream of patients coming in even at the height of the pandemic but as as things have improved here uh we’ve certainly seen an increased uh demand for plastic surgery procedures um unfortunately we’ve been able to uh meet that demand for the most part okay definitely and then um have you guys um do you mainly focus on like the facial aspect of the procedures or more of the body contouring are you guys pretty much all inclusive there actually we are pretty all inclusive of face breast body non-surgical alternatives things like old therapy and we’ve added a couple of new lasers uh to kind of round out uh all the different treatment options that we can offer patients so basically anything head to toe we can we can take care of it okay awesome is there a particular procedure too that you wanted to give some good education to the viewers about well one of our more popular procedures uh is the mommy makeover and and by that i mean uh a combination of breast and stomach work uh which can include breast implants with a with or without a breast lift a tummy tuck with or without liposuction and we’re really getting a lot of demand for that from our middle aged female population who just want to restore their body to the condition it was before their pregnancies okay yeah definitely and what is the um the average surgical time with that procedure well it can vary widely depending on all the details of the procedure required but typically four to six hours for surgical time and then recovery time can take a week or two um in terms of getting back to work and being able to get around on your own full recovery to get back to strenuous activities can take a month or two so it can be a major procedure and definitely needs to be planned out in terms of work and having help around the house especially for women with small children yeah definitely and then is there any um you know treatments or procedures that you guys recommend before or after that um just to make sure that you maximize the results with those uh well we like those patients to be in general good health reasonably close to their ideal weight and and sometimes that means that we have to postpone surgery for a period of time if they’re in the process of of trying to lose weight because if we can have them at a stable weight that they can maintain it will allow me to do a better job in terms of tightening and lifting and help the results last longer okay definitely and then like you said so the main benefits of having that procedure done are just uh slimming the midsection there and then it’s typically accompanied with with breast augmentation yes and and some some women will even want uh some facial procedures done like their eyelids or a facelift o therapy would be a a good non-surgical option for a facelift so we really just want to help restore not only a woman’s body but also their self-esteem and confidence okay yeah definitely and then how long do the the results with those typically last well for the most part these are our long-term if not permanent results certainly things like a tummy tuck should really only need to be once done once in a lifetime however things like breast implants may need to be replaced every 10 to 20 years and if there’s a breast lift done we may need to do a little touch up on the lift due to gravity and the effects of normal aging and if there are our significant weight changes we may need to do touch-ups on the liposuction but for the most part these are our fairly long-lasting procedures that may never need to be repeated okay definitely and then um you know i know with the cosmetic treatments and with everything you know coming such a long way in the advancements is there any specific techniques or instruments that you guys use to really help you out with those procedures definitely uh for things like mommy makeover for the liposuction aspect we have uh purchased a power assisted liposuction machine which significantly uh improves the results by helping to break up stubborn fat and making it easier to remove and also doing it with less pain and less recovery in addition to that for smaller procedures we’ve introduced a pronox system which is nitrous oxide otherwise known as laughing gas that you may have seen in your dentist or oral surgery office but is also now used in labor and delivery suites and is becoming more popular in cosmetic surgery practices pronox or nitrous oxide helps relieve the anxiety and lessen the pain from procedures that could be done under just local anesthesia with the advantage being that there’s very little recovery time and patients can literally drive themselves home afterwards so not only does it save on the cost of having to bring in an anesthesiologist to provide anesthesia for their surgery the recovery is much easier and they can be back to work the next day yeah and i think a lot of patients are now realizing the benefits of having you know just the local anesthesia and then i’m sure um with the laughing guests while being able to not have the complications and the extra you know issues that they’re gonna deal with with general anesthesia yes it’s it’s much safer and and they don’t need to get a checkup from their family doctor beforehand so even for patients that have uh high blood pressure or diabetes it’s a much safer uh way to go and that helps save on the cost as well okay definitely and then who would you say is really you know an ideal candidate for those procedures well again someone that doesn’t need or want the the full uh treatment maybe they just need some liposuction or maybe they just need a mini tummy tuck um or maybe they just need a minor breast lift or a breast implant exchange those are procedures that we used to have to do using iv sedation and now we can do them under products um and the patients love it because one of the positives of it is that the patients actually control how much anesthesia they get because they’re the ones actually holding the tubing to control when and how much anesthesia they get okay definitely yeah that’s very interesting and uh lastly i was curious if you had any you know advice for a patient that’s you know hearing this and is thinking you know that this might be a good treatment for them well i think the first step would be to come in for a consultation or for those who uh in hawaii we have many patients on the outer islands we do offer uh not just the the 3d imaging but we can do that virtually so Aiea Hawaii is Home to Pearlridge Center and Sumida Farm

Aiea is a city in Hawaii’s Marquesas Islands. Visitors can enjoy its beaches and many recreational activities. The town is home to the second largest mall in the country, Pearlridge Center. The town is also home to Sumida Farm, Hawaii’s largest watercress farm. A World War II plane crash is also located in the Marquesas Islands. The city is not named Eiao.

Pearlridge Center is Hawaii’s second largest mall

The Pearlridge Center is one of Hawaii’s largest shopping centers. The mall features both local and national retailers. Visitors to Pearlridge can shop in one of two food courts and enjoy a movie at the theater. A weekly farmers market is also held at the Pearlridge Center. A monorail ride to the mall costs just $1. Visitors can enjoy the mall’s amenities from their car or ride the monorail.

The company Glimcher purchased a 20 percent stake in Pearlridge Center in 2010 and later bought the remaining 80 percent from Blackstone Real Estate Partners VI. The price of the deal will include Blackstone’s pro-rata share of the property’s $175 million mortgage debt. Glimcher plans to fund the transaction with the net proceeds of its public offering of common stock and available funds from its credit facility. The mall has total leasable space of one million square feet and an occupancy rate of over 99 percent.

Sumida Farm is Hawaii’s largest watercress farm

For nearly 100 years, Sumida Farm, Inc. has cultivated the freshest watercress in Hawaii. The company is stewards of the Kalauao Spring, Hawaii’s largest watercress producer. Watercress is an important part of Hawaii’s cuisine, but a lot of people are not aware that Kalauao Spring is a sacred site.

Luckily, the springs in the Pearl Harbor region have declined nearly half since 1880. These springs provide the water necessary for Sumida Farm, a four-hectare multigenerational family farm that produces more than 70% of the watercress consumed in Hawaii. The farm relies on the spring flow to maintain its productivity. It is not only important for the farmers, but for the environment, too.

Keaiwa Heiau is a Hawaiian temple

Visitors to the Hawaiian island of Oahu should not miss the chance to visit the ancient Keaiwa Heiau, also known as a heiau ho’ola. This ancient Hawaiian temple, built in the 16th century, was used by priests and kahuna for medicinal purposes. This temple was also a place of fasting and prayer, and the priests there would prescribe various medicinal formulas to cure various ailments.

Located in the state park of Aiea, Keaiwa Heiau is an ancient Hawaiian temple. It is renowned for its healing properties and is home to a number of Hawaiian herb doctors. Aloha Stadium hosts the National Football League’s Pro Bowl

Hawaii has the honor of hosting the National Football League’s Pro Bowl. However, the current venue is outdated, suffering from code non-compliance, and salt-water weathering. The current stadium was built in 1972, and is a little over four decades old. The State of Hawaii has earmarked $350 million to build a new one, as well as a stadium village. The project is expected to begin late in 2022.

Although the NFL decided to move the game to Orlando after the first two years, the decision was unrelated to Aloha Stadium or Hawaii’s ability to host the game. The Hawaii Tourism Authority used the $5 million to fund various sports competitions and community events. The money generated by the Pro Bowl will help preserve Hawaii’s culture and sponsor community events. In addition to the game, Hawaii will also benefit from a U.S. women’s soccer exhibition game in December.

Commander Thomas C Latimore vanished while walking in the hills above Aiea

The incident of Commander Thomas C Latimore disappearing while hiking in the hills above Aiea, Hawaii, remains one of the most mysterious in U.S. Navy history. He was a seasoned hiker who was heading towards the summit of the Koolau range when he went missing. The Navy declared him dead, citing a lack of information on the cause of his death.

Although there was no conclusive explanation for Latimore’s disappearance, there are theories about his disappearance. Latimore was a naval intelligence spy, and his command of the USS Dobbin was a cover for an investigation. The Female Plastic Surgeons Society (FPS) represents and advocates on behalf of all female plastic surgeons members and candidates for membership into ASPS. Members of the FPS have been instrumental in the establishment of a number of outstanding organizations and research projects designed to advance the education of both undergraduate and continuing surgical training and to improve medical technology. The society’s goals are to ensure that all female surgeons can practice safely and competently in their particular specialty and to enhance the quality of life of women in general.

Although there are many different reasons as to why the FPS would want to have an official site, one of its most significant goals is to increase the visibility of female surgeons. Since there are not many opportunities for female surgical specialists to network with other female surgeons, members of the FPS have worked hard to create a supportive and nurturing network to support each other in the field and to help each other find employment after completion of training. Since the field of plastic surgery is highly competitive, the members of FPS actively participate in industry events and meetings, offer informative training and community outreach programs to raise the profile of female surgical specialists.

Many cosmetic surgeries are performed by the members of FPS; in fact, the most popular procedures performed by this organization include breast augmentation, breast lifts, liposuction, facial reconstructions, rhinoplasty, nose jobs and breast reductions. Although the membership is only about 5 percent females, these surgeons have worked diligently to make the program as representative as possible of female plastic surgeons across the country. These surgeons work diligently to promote education, awareness and acceptance of the specific issues and concerns that arise in the face of cosmetic surgery for women. Although there are currently no official requirements that a prospective member to have in order to become a member of FPS, the organization has developed a highly effective application process to ensure that candidates are eligible for membership.

For starters, a prospective member will be required to attend a minimum of twelve hours of education at an approved institution before becoming a member of the society, and any credits earned during this time will count toward the twelve-hour requirement. Additionally, if you are planning to specialize in any area of surgery, you will also need to pass the Board Certification Exam. in order to successfully complete your specialization.

The members of FPS also conduct educational programs and workshops for those who wish to become members but who do not have formal training or expertise in any area of plastic surgery. In addition to their extensive educational programs, members of the FPS also participate in a number of community events and outreach activities, such as educational tours of local plastic surgery facilities. and clinics, community-based research projects, and educational presentations.

It is easy to see how female plastic surgeons have helped pave the way to improved patient care through innovative techniques in cosmetic surgery for women, as well as a solid and successful foundation for future advancement in this exciting field. -Waikiki Beach

Waikiki Beach is very popular for the city of Honolulu. This beach is extremely beautiful. The water is very blue and clear. The waves are defined and can be seen at anytime of the day. The sand is brown sugar honey colored and is very soft on the skin. Like most beaches, Waikiki Beach is completely free. There are also different shops along side of the beach for food and drinks. If you are interested in shopping, you can walk along side Kalakaua Avenue and you will find more clothing shops and restaurants to indulge in!

-Diamond Head
If you’re interested in hiking, Diamond head is the right place for you! Diamond year was created hundreds of thousands of years ago after a volcanic eruption. The scene is truly amazing, you will be astonished by the beauty of the hill. The hike up will almost be 800 feet up. The park is open from 6a-6p, if you aren’t into crowds, the earlier is better to visit. You can either walk or hike up, if you’re walking the cost is $1; however, if you chose to drive, the cost is $5.

-Manoa Falls

Manoa Falls is also a great place to visit for hiking, relaxation, and sightseeing. You will have access to this park 24/7 hours throughout the day. The cost to access the park is free; however, parking does cost $5. This park allows you to see a beautiful tall 100 foot waterfall. There is a lot of mud at this park so please dress accordingly. You probably will get dirty, but it will be totally worth it.

-Waimea Bay
Waimea Bay is another beautiful beach that is a must see. During the winter, the water has high powerful tides; however, when the summer comes the tides are relaxed and calm. The beach is completely free and it is opened from 5a-10p. This beach is a great place for surfing. Waimea’s waves reach as high as 30 feet tall!
